We're a small business — is consultancy overkill for us?
Not necessarily. The scope of a consultancy engagement scales with the complexity of your business. For smaller businesses with simpler operations, a shorter scoping session may be all that’s needed before moving to implementation. The free 30-minute audit is often the right starting point. It gives us enough information to tell you whether a full consultancy engagement is warranted or whether we can move straight into implementation planning.
Is consultancy included in the implementation price or separate?
Consultancy is a separate engagement with its own scope and fee. The reason is straightforward: discovery and process mapping require dedicated time from experienced consultants and produce standalone deliverables (a process map, gap analysis, and roadmap) that have value regardless of whether an implementation follows. The discovery phase within an implementation project is shorter and scoped differently. We are transparent about the difference and what each costs.
Can you audit an existing Odoo system that isn't working well?
Yes, this is one of our most common consultancy requests. We conduct a system audit covering your current configuration, module usage, data quality, custom code quality (if applicable), and user adoption. The output is a prioritised remediation report: what to fix first, what to reconfigure, what to replace, and whether a full re-implementation is actually necessary (often it isn’t).
How long does a consultancy engagement typically take?
Most engagements run between two and four weeks, depending on the size of your business and the number of functional areas being mapped. The discovery workshops typically take 2–4 sessions of 2–3 hours each. The analysis and deliverable production happens between sessions. For a business with a well-defined scope and available stakeholders, two weeks is achievable. We provide a clear timeline estimate before the engagement begins.
Do I need to know anything about Odoo before the first session?
No. You need to understand your own business well, which you do. We bring the Odoo knowledge. The most productive consultancy sessions happen when the client focuses on describing what their business does and what isn’t working, and lets us translate that into system requirements. Prior Odoo knowledge is never a requirement to start a consultancy engagement.
